Children are life's most precious gift, and as parents you do everything you can in your power to protect
them and provide them with a safe and secure childhood. Genesis-SCI has set out to help you in your
endeavor by providing unique training courses designed to reinforce safety and protective lessons that
every child has probably heard many times.
TRAINING THE MIND AND BODY
Often times the reason children and even adults freeze and take the wrong course of action during a crisis
moment is because their mind has no real reference points or parameters in which it can call upon to guide
its reactive responses, thus the child and the adult do what ever is natural or comes to mind for them in a
given situation. In many of these cases where the mind is untrained the action taken is not the right response
and can lead to heartache. All the child courses offered by Genesis are designed to build those conscious
and sub conscious reference points in the mind of the child so that if danger comes they can react properly,
their mind will be able to have life saving reference points that will ignite them into auto safe mode.
DEFENDING AGAINST THE ULTIMATE ABDUCTOR GOAL
Not all abductions are violent grabs, sometimes the abductor lures the child away calmly and without
struggle. Many times the abductor is not a total stranger but someone familiar to the child and family and
can gain the confidence of the child. The common thread in all abductor scenarios is that at some point the
bad guy will turn from his nice guy persona into his true motives which is to molest, rape or even kill the
child once they have safely lured them away and have them secluded. The value of the Adult Encounter
courses is that they deal with teaching the child how to survive the physical attack regardless of who the
perpetrator is, how he lured them away, and regardless of his final objective.
DEFENDING AGAINST ABUSE AND ADULT ASSAULT
In our current society where both parents work, many parents turn to other adults to watch over their
children until they leave work. While must child care providers are reliable and safe sometimes things go
wrong, the skill sets in this course not only teach the child how to resist an abductor or molester, but also
how to defend themselves against an hostile adult intent on physical abuse of the child through hitting and
beating. While every child should be taught to respect adults, that courtesy should be tempered with a
health understanding of how to protect themselves when the adult has gone beyond the privilege of that
respect, and has ventured in to darker territory.
ADULT ENCOUNTER PHILOSOPHY
In other courses of training offered by Genesis the encounter philosophy is made up of four principles.
Child encounter training follow the same principle structure minus one, that being the element of "Ending"
which requires the student to neutralize and defeat the aggressor by force ending with the aggressor
subdued on the ground. This philosophy element is not practical when discussing children defending against
much larger and stronger adults. The emphasis of training is to stun the aggressor and create space that will
precipitate a clean and safe evacuation.
The three elements that form the structure of every Encounter Movement will allow the student to flow
seamlessly from the beginning of an attack to the point where the student escapes or evacuates the area.
Keep in mind that though each encounter movement is divided into three parts and may sound long and
complicated, the movement is designed to flow from one element to the next quickly and seamlessly in
mere seconds. All elements are designed to free the child from the adult aggressor and allow them to flee.
The three structured elements and the order that they are initiated is as follows:
1. Counter Element: The goal here is to learn to both defend and strike in the same movements. Skill sets
in this element are designed to counter hitting, holding, or gabbing actions initiated by the adult. These skill
sets rely on various hand, foot, elbow, knee and fist strikes to stun, distract or pain the aggressor, and
allow the student to transition to the "Clearance Element".
2. Clearance Element: Skill sets in this element is used to move the defender into a safe position so that
the attacker can not initiate further attacks, and the defender can move into the "Evacuation Skill Sets".
From the clearance position the attacker is kept off balance unable to counter attack.
3. Evacuation Element: A systematic and intelligent evacuation method should be conditioned into the
mind and body that will make the escape stronger, efficient, and secure. This is important because many
times such adult assaults on the child is conducted in places of seclusion, the child should not run around
aimlessly in an attempt to flee the bad guy. The Evacuation Element will allow the child to move smartly
and directly to safety and help, while minimizing the potential of re-engagement with the bad guy.

skill sets that will last a life time from adolescents, to teen hood, to adulthood. The skill sets learned in each
course not only provide the child with the education to protect themselves from the threat emphasized in

Our courses are not about the instructor standing and talking about a threat and telling cute stories, and
issuing out a list of do's and don'ts and leaving the child to figure things out later. Our courses are about
drilling real world scenarios in a non threatening way and interweaving them with relevant survival
knowledge. The skill sets taught are designed to allow the child to learn and master them quickly, and to
remember them at the instinctive level.
